Activating Sling TV on Roku

Sling TV brings live cable channels to your Roku device without a traditional cable subscription. This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and activating Sling TV on any Roku device.

Roku Device Compatibility

Sling TV works on most Roku devices:

• Roku Ultra
• Roku Streaming Stick and Streaming Stick+
• Roku Express and Express+
• Roku Premiere and Premiere+
• Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense, etc.)

Minimum requirement: Roku software version 8.1 or later

Step 1: Download Sling TV on Roku

1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote
2. Scroll down and select Streaming Channels
3. Select Search Channels
4. Type "Sling TV" using the on-screen keyboard
5. Select Sling TV from the search results
6. Click Add Channel
7. Wait for the download to complete

Alternative: Add Sling TV from the Roku website:

1. Go to channelstore.roku.com
2. Sign in to your Roku account
3. Search for "Sling TV"
4. Click "Add Channel"
5. The app will appear on your Roku automatically

Step 2: Create or Sign In to Sling TV

New Sling TV Subscribers

1. Open the Sling TV app on your Roku
2. Select Start Watching or Sign Up
3. You'll be directed to create an account
4. For easier signup, use your phone or computer:
   • Go to sling.com
   • Click Watch Now
   • Create your account and choose a plan
   • Return to Roku and sign in

Existing Sling TV Subscribers

1. Open Sling TV on your Roku
2. Select Sign In
3. Enter your email and password using the on-screen keyboard
4. Or select Sign in with a code:
   • Note the activation code displayed
   • On your phone/computer, go to sling.com/activate
   • Sign in to your Sling account
   • Enter the activation code
   • Your Roku will automatically sign in

Sling Orange ($40/month)

• 30+ channels including ESPN, Disney Channel, TNT
• 1 stream at a time
• Best for sports fans

Sling Blue ($40/month)

• 40+ channels including NBC, Fox, USA, Bravo
• 3 streams at a time
• Best for families

Sling Orange + Blue ($55/month)

• 50+ channels (combined)
• 4 streams at a time
• Best value for full coverage

Using Sling TV on Roku

Navigation Basics

• Guide - View the channel lineup and schedule
• My TV - Access favorites and DVR recordings
• On Demand - Browse shows and movies
• Sports - Find live and upcoming sports

Remote Controls

• OK button - Select/Play
• Arrow keys - Navigate
• * button - Access options menu
• Back - Return to previous screen
• Home - Exit to Roku home

1. While watching a channel, press *
2. Select Add to Favorites

Troubleshooting Sling TV on Roku

App Won't Download

• Check your Roku's internet connection
